Biped NOA

NOA is an all-in-one handsfree vest for people with blindness and low vision. Worn on the shoulders, Noa provides obstacle avoidance, GPS navigation, and scene description using AI, making it an ideal complement to a cane or guide dog. Noa weighs about 1 kilo and includes long-lasting batteries that provide up to 7 hours of continuous operation.

Navigation

NOA delivers precise GPS navigation through bone-conduction headphones, following O&M rules and detailing crosswalks and turn angles.

This icon shows two overlapping triangles with a circle above them, representing an AI feature that provides detailed descriptions of surroundings when a button is pressed.

AI

NOA uses the latest AI to give detailed descriptions of your surroundings, including street crossings, exits, and stairs, with just a press of a button.

A circular icon with a diagonal line through it, representing obstacle detection and GPS navigation.

Obstacle

NOA uses 3 cameras to replicate the human field of view, even in the dark. It alerts you to obstacles like branches, holes, and scooters with beeps in the headphones and is powered by self-driving car technology from Honda Research Institute.

The icon features six vertical lines, with the shortest lines on the sides, representing audio feedback.

Audio Feedback

NOA uses AI to provide real-time audio feedback through bone-conduction headphones, alerting you to obstacles and details about your surroundings, like stairs and nearby people, while keeping your ears free.

Tested by over 200 users, with more than 600 km walked, across 10 countries in 2023.

Testiomonials

I truly loved it. I talked to some students about what kind of device would be most useful to them. You basically made that.
